About

Hi! I’m Jenn

I assume everyone stumbling across this site probably already knows me (and my husband Jamie!), but just in case here is a little bit of background:

Jamie and I met in Boston in 2007 and initially bonded over food; specifically J.J. Nissen bread. Yes, you read that right. Jamie’s family owned and operated the Maine-based J.J. Nissen Bakery for over a century until the family sold it in the 1990s. Seeing as my dad used to drive the J.J. Nissen bread trucks as a summer job, Jamie and I instantly bonded over our mutual experience of listening to boring stories about early morning bread deliveries and pulling loaves to the front of the store shelves.

Fast forward 10 years later, we got married. In Maine, of course. And throughout our relationship, our mutual love of cooking and eating has been the glue that holds us together. We’ve been living in NYC the past several years, but it’s finally time to move on to our next big adventure, and are heading up to Maine for the summer.

In celebration of beginning a new chapter in our lives, as well as being fully vaccinated and finally having a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel (yay science!), we are doing what we do best- cooking and eating. The plan is to host regular Friday night cookouts at our summer place on the Maine coast, and I’ll be posting here with updates on cookout themes, menus, recipes and photos to share with everyone. We’re looking forward to cooking for all of our friends and family- both virtually and in person. Hope you can join us!
